ACME is flexing its muscles and efficiently pushing into Europe.

It goes like a Tornado!

A Chinese manufacturer, distinguished from other Chinese manufacturers by the fact that it does not try to reproduce someone else's idea but creates its own. On top of all this, it doesn't pretend to be European or American. It must be admitted that over the past two years they have had several successful releases. Which were surprising in their price/quality ratio.

After the success of the Stage Blinder WW2, which I consider the best led blinder to date, by the Pixel Line IP (which I tested for a long time, but have not yet described), or the Mana Hybrid. At the end of the year, it's worth highlighting more luminaires that I think will give the brand another kick.

Acme Tornado

Whoever didn't write a library for the Eurolite LED TMH Bar on his knee is most likely too young or has never made it to a "mordor" at a disco as a performer. I have a feeling that Acme decided to take this idea into the world of professional lighting, and as far as I know - they did it well again.

Tornado is an LED bar based on 5 small, almost* separate heads, where each has 120W of power, RGBL color mixing mode and independent zoom. All enclosed in one strip. Around each lens we also have available the well-known and well-loved "ring".

The device has already made its appearance on several major productions. For example, we could see it at the finale of The Voice of Poland. I know unofficially that it will appear on several more large ones in the near future. Also, the interest is there.

*almost separate because the tilt they share.

Lightning X

The oversaturation of new heads on the market has resulted in a significant expansion of the range of light-strobe products. Slowly we are seeing manufacturers outdo each other in ingenuity and we are getting more and more interesting options.

New in this segment from Acme is the Lightning X - which premiered at LDI 2024 in Las Vegas. The device at first glance is no revolution. However, if we take a closer look, the lightning bolts from a thick pipe in every shape.

It is a floodlight-strobe, which has a multitude of sections separated. The first classic one is a 240x 12W RGB, pixel disc. In the three rows in the middle, we can notice another 30x 10W CW hidden under the lenses with narrow characteristics. In between were placed 2 strobe strips consisting of 160x 6W CW, on the outside of the pixel section we can see 2 RGB color mixing strips of 0.5W/chip. The last elements are the "underscores" at the top and bottom by the housing itself, each consisting of 50x 2W LEDs, one CW, the other WW.

The whole thing has been "salted" with Smart Glass technology, which is becoming increasingly popular in our industry - that is, electronic frost. Exactly the same as in Pixel Line IP. Here I must mention that Acme is no longer the only manufacturer that uses this technology because it can also be found in the new releases of the Chauvet brand.

Until I got sweaty dissecting these lede after one photo I got from LDI. It's true that we have more sections and possibilities on a single setting than we sometimes have on a Harvest Festival stage... Flipping the coin - is it possible to quickly embrace the cool stuff on at least half of it?

More information about Lightning X is not yet available. - I would forget - it looks powerful, but the weight is only 5kg....

Personal transfer

If we're already at Acme, we should finally mention that we have a Polish representative directly at the manufacturer. After 4 years of cooperation with P.S. Teatr, Bartek Kownacki, well known to all, is moving directly to the Acme team. As regional manager, he will be responsible for the Polish, Czech, Slovak and Hungarian markets.

Congratulations and we wish you success! You can send your realizations using ACME, to this profile!

The latest information on ACME products as always on the website of P.S. Theater, which invariably continues to distribute Acme for Poland.
