Today we present to you the last format we would like to run for now with an unknown frequency, we will see how the coverage and interest will allow.
Welcome to loose conversations in which we will cover industry topics, talk to various interesting people about the industry, life, problems. The first fire went to a rather controversial topic, which is counterfeits of original devices.
You can also listen to the conversation on Spotify as a podcast!
My guests were Dominik Zimakowski, one of the founders of the Portman Lights brand, and legal counsel Tomasz Palak. We discussed topics such as what is a counterfeit altogether. Where is that line between similar devices and counterfeit. What tools a manufacturer has to protect its devices. What are the legal risks for the user.
Author's Commentary
This is the first material of this kind that I have created, so forgive any mistakes, stumbles, but he who does nothing is not wrong. I would like to wrap up our conversation with some more brief comments.
While editing the conversation already, many more questions came to me that could have been asked. However, due to the fact that we don't have a whole day, I mean we did, you don't have to listen to it, it all had to be trimmed down.
I would just like to further state my position in relation to goods from China. As I said during the conversation, the Chinese manufacturer, like any other, has the right to create their products. The problem arises when, colloquially speaking, "podpie...." Someone else's work and we organize sales flowing on the wave of popularity developed by someone else.
In an ideal world we would all oppose this kind of practice, but we know what the reality is. Even being most against it comes to a situation where we have a choice, either to play and take advantage of what's there, or simply not to work at all. As far as I'm concerned, it's a stalemate situation that makes it impossible to make a decision and stand with a wall on NO.
