The following text is about my experiences and thoughts related to the Rider of bands playing a lot of events from the public purse. For whom summer equals the Feast of all vegetables, cities and harvest festivals, the one in the circus is not laughing.
Technical rider is an indispensable part of our work. There are, of course, the equipment requirements of the crew producing the event and the requirements of the artists. When it comes to artists, I know, there are a bunch of ridiculous and less ridiculous examples of curmudgeonly requirements such as a group of midgets and a goat in the dressing room, but let's focus on the requirements of our domestic bands.

Here with fancies I, at least, have not encountered. Still. Artists usually require food and drink more or less exquisite, but it usually comes down to a meat and vege division. Such requirements are not likely to be visible in the technical rider, only separately for review only by the organizer.
The technical rider is mainly the requirements of the implementers, and let's focus on what we should write and what we should not. For starters, it is a good idea for the rider to include the following formula:
This document is an integral part of the contract, concluded between the organizer and the team manager. Ignorance of the technical rider does not exempt from its observance. Any deviation from this document, without prior consultation with the team implementers, is tantamount to failure to comply with the terms of the contract. Any changes must be consulted directly with the team implementers.
It is a good idea to have any changes that you agree with the companies or the organizer in the form of an email.
Further we enter, of course, what we want to get for the event. Meaning we can want it, and the reality is what it is. And here is where the sword is double-edged, because some demand the proverbial pears in the willow tree, while others snatch at the sun with a hoe.

However, if you are an implementer then remember one thing. A rider cannot cost more than the band itself. An organizer considering a band for, say, city days looks at the overhead, that is, the cost of the band plus the rider. The more expensive you are the less you will play.
Well, unless you are in the top of the top and the market itself forces the organizers to blow a pile of hay. Then you can wish for whatever your heart desires. Unless it's a public tender then: ''Let the games begin''. The thing is, of course, the team that sells out the stadium for tickets is beyond what he writes and the text is not about them.
But it looks great in the visualizer! - Would like this for every piece!
Going further if you are in a group that does not sell stadiums and you have already made a reasonable rider do not require devices that almost no one in the country has. I am writing this from my own experience. Entering "Halupixes" or "Nonabeams" I had them in 4 years - 0 times. This does not mean that you should not enter items that you like. But count on the fact that you may not get it. Everyone knows, of course, what conversations with companies look like: ''Good morning is like this. Blinders we have, smokers plus fans also no problem but...''. Here we already know that there will be sewing. Playing the days of cities and potato festivals this is how most of the conversations are, and what can I tell you. ''You will not paint it. You can wrestle like a donkey and state it has to be and it's over. Believe me it is a fight against windmills.

That's why it's a good idea to write in the devices you would like to have, and let it be even the latest high-end equipment (I often do so, and maybe someone will have or think about buying one) but next to it write: or similar device. When it comes to LED Wash on the Polish market, we probably have the most Robe Robiin 600/800 and Claypaky K10, while when it comes to beams and spots it is of course Pointe and Quantum. Sunstrips and Atomics are a real classic. These are plentiful and almost everyone has them. Although whether they are originals or replacements I don't even want to elaborate because it's like a taboo subject.
Just as inconveniently, the rider also includes equipment that few people own, and usually the implementer or the company he works for owns. Well, it is possible anyway. Create demand and supply at the same time. Why not. Although in the case of public tenders it looks even different and this is also an uncomfortable topic. I seem to spin the whip on myself anyway.
Then who should carry the equipment?
Must mention the recently raised topic of transferring responsibility for the equipment to the technical company. My dear friends, if someone is already to take care of this equipment it is either you or security. Although in the second case the responsibility will be shifted to the technician anyway. The same goes for people to help carry the equipment. And here there is no fault on the part of the team only the organizer. He is supposed to embrace the people to help or guard, and that it is thrown on the technician is a river topic.

It is known that it is a question of the company's willingness to continue cooperation with the organizer and how much the companies allow themselves to maintain such cooperation. It will still be a long time in this country before this is sorted out as it should be. It's different at festivals where there are people just to carry and take care of the backline. In any case, remember not to put such responsibility from above on the technician because these people have already carried themselves.
In a word of conclusion
Remember, if you will be right with the companies and vice versa, it is always possible to get along. Attempts to dim or trick each other because ''not such art was laid'' do not augur fruitful cooperation. And you, patting a new show, I recommend preparing versions of yourself for a few eventualities, so that there will be no tears later. Hello.
