Brighter not long ago announced a new internal software update for the X-Dot head. Let's take a closer look at the "Relase Notes" 🙂
In the new sofet we will get a new mode "Shapes" which has 35Ch and is equivalent to the "Eye900" mode from Brighter. A nod to the developers for listening to users (including me 🙂 ) and creating this mode. From now on we can work on one "Fixture" and use both devices interchangeably.
X-DOT FIRMWARE 3.0 changes:
- New 35Ch mode of operation compatible with Eye900:
DMX+ARTNET -> for small mode (28ch,35ch,51ch works simultaneously DMX and Art-net on two independent addresses, Art-net is superior to DMX.
That is, when the twisted pair is unplugged or the signal is lost, the device switches to DMX operation by itself, on the address set as "Base Address"
(Artnet/sACN works under "Pixel Address")
DMX+ARTNET -> for large mode (107,128) Divide head to control from two consoles simultaneously - RGB channels of effect LEDs are under artnet (pixelmap),
rest of channels under DMX.
- The lens disc rotation channel now works differently (0-127 index, then continuous CW rotation, from the fastest to the slowest, at 192 stop and continuous CCW rotation, to the fastest speed at 255, zyli the so-called "hourglass").
- Macro effect channel works exactly the same as the rotation channel described (index, then hourglass)
- The Zoom Fine channel has been replaced by the Macro Fade channel, which "smooths" the animation on the pixels.
- There are new macros for the main RGBL LEDs, now there are 39 of them instead of the original 16.
- Improving the performance of the Tinta channel
- A number of features have been added to the Control channel, including the ability to select the dimmer curve, LED refresh rate, and cooling mode.
- RDM - data update (new mode 35ch)
Some more will come in handy
The soft is also available for X-Dot MAXX, so from now on we can use the 3 devices interchangeably without swapping fixtures.
In addition, Firmware 3.0 adds Eye900-compatible modes, expanded macros and improved features like DMX+Art-Net and new options on the Control channel.
