MyMethod has suddenly surprised us with the release of the long-awaited CLONE LED. We have already had the opportunity to see the device several times in various splendors over the past year. This time, however, it officially drops into sale. I invite you to take a look at the details of the product, our domestic manufacturer.
It has been a long time since the first announcements of this device, as I mentioned, but we have finally arrived. CLONE LED was unveiled to the world on May 15, and as a result, we learned many details about the new device.
Light source
The new CLONE LED will feature three types of light source:
SOURCE | DESCRIPTION |
Warm White | Adapted for effects as from its predecessor, warm white with bulb emulation. Ideal as a blinder. |
RGBW | Effect source with RGBW color mixing, works well for eyecandy effects or coloring a scene |
UV | Additional effect source, this time as a UV light. It will be useful for checking the authenticity of banknotes but also not only. |
The Warm White source additionally has an adjustable CTO from 1800 to 6500 degrees Kelvin. It is worth mentioning that the device has a high CRI of 95. The whole thing is dimmerized in 16 bits.

The sources have a total of 100w of power and are suitable for camera work thanks to flicker-free technology. The new Clone will also work quite well as a strobe as you can see in the video showing the device (the one above)
Construction of the device
Thanks to the use of the same form-factor as in the predecessor, they can be combined in the same way as the older version. Also, substitutions in the plot should not pose any problem. The whole thing is sealed in IP65 and is passively cooled, so it generates "noise" at 0dB.
How do we control the CLONE LED?
The new MyMethod release comes with DMX along with RDM, you won't experience Artnet or sACN here although with only 20 DMX channels this doesn't seem to be a big issue.

It is worth noting that now the device does not require any external dimmer or other control cubes. Everything is in one housing. The whole thing is wrapped with waterproof Neutrik connectors.
Summary
CLONE LED has been long awaited but we finally got it and I guess it was worth it because it seems to be quite a nice device with new capabilities. Let us know in the comments what you guys think!
