I saw somewhere, but I don't remember....

So let's dig up some Cameo.

A tough topic with this reptile. I will honestly say that it is probably the most underrated brand that is on the market - as far as Poland is concerned. I think that decentralized distribution does not work in their favor. It's a shame, because they really have a lot of good equipment.

Fortunately, there was LDI and you could dig into the news a little easier, and they have something to brag about.

ORON® H2

Another hybrid on the market? Yes, but not quite. Cameo goes a step further by offering the first hybrid fixture on the market based on a phosphor laser. We've already had an approach to lasers with the Xtylos from Clay Paky, without success, it will be interesting to see how it comes out this time.

The phosphor laser-based motor (260W) is expected to replace a 480W discharge lamp in theory. That is, comparable to an LED. The device continues to look like a spaceship, so we are assured of an IP65-rated Cameo. Gently draws attention to the weight, because 32kg to compact I would no longer count.

On paper a small zoom range for modern hybrids because 0.6°-32°. Two gobo dials - static and rotating, two prism dials including 6 different effects, soft and hard frost, CMY color mixing + linear CTO correction. All the mentioned functions are part of the canon of recently fashionable hybrids.

OTOS® SERIES

If ever, any manufacturer wonders how to make a "series" of devices then seriously, you can learn from Cameo. The OTOS® SERIES, which saw the light of day earlier this year, is a true series. Not an "expansion" and "addition" of more completely different devices under the same name.

Here we get three IP65-rated washes, and the only thing that makes them different is the number of LEDs and the functions associated with that. So let me start by writing what they all have. Based on 50W (+10W for Gryffindor vs. competitors) LEDs with RGBL mode of meshing. The ZOOM range of each unit in the series is 4° - 60°. In addition, around all of them have the well-known and well-loved RGB ring with various macroscopes.

The devices come in W3 (7 meshes), W6 (16 meshes) and W12 (32 meshes) variants. It is natural that they will occupy a different number of channels in DMX if only because of the ability to control each pixel separately. However, each of them has a mode in which the only difference is the additional ZOOM parameter. For what is interesting: in the W3 version we have one zoom, in the W6 we have two zoom zones, and in the W12 we have 3 zoom zones. We have already seen a similar solution in Chauvet devices.

I can't hide the fact that I bumped into them on the bus when a colleague on the bench next to me was looking for what washes to buy, and price-wise it sits really well. For a while we can only get hung up on weight and size. Because 21kg and 500mm in depth for a medium is quite a lot for a washa.

Less interesting, but also cool

Of course, this year could not miss the new LED pair, ROOT Par IP. UNISENS® lighting sensor, which translates tested light values into DMX protocol, or the Profile OPUS® X4 head , with a motor that generates 1500W of power. However, I have to leave something for the next texts.
