Most of you are probably familiar with the Adam Hall brand. A manufacturer of all sorts of things, from hardware and structural components, transport boxes to cable invasions (probably their most popular product).
However, not everyone knows that Adam Hall is a huge German company that brings together many brands from the pro stage market under its umbrella. This includes the Palmer company, which produces guitar preamps, amp simulators, guitar heads and packs, and a lot of other minor stage gear. Palmer has also so far produced some pretty quality diboxes including, for example, 8-channel rack units, and at very affordable prices.
The manufacturer recently decided to release a brand new series of stage boxes based on new components and design. Each unit is made of solid aluminum and steel. The River series includes 13 new models of passive devices. These range from one- and two-channel diboxes to line isolators, mergers, combiners, speaker simulators and re-amping units. Palmer's specialists claim that the audio path does not introduce distortion as a result of which we get a quality signal at the output of the device. They are so confident in the quality of their new series that they give it a 5-year warranty. And that, I admit, gives you food for thought.
However, as usual, time and testing will show how this quality is. Nevertheless, I myself will be eager to test their new toys soon. Especially in this era of galloping prices, a quality alternative to brands like Radial or BSS seems tempting. If they maintain the quality of devices like the 8-channel passive DiBox PAN16 then there is a chance that we will meet them on stage more than once.
