Telescopic system from Gravity

To make putting strips upright a pleasure!

One of my favorite set pieces when it comes to lighting is the incandescent backlight behind the artist. For many years I have used "Sunstrip" fixtures standing vertically on the ground. Each time, due to the different sizes of the locations I play in the question arises of what to put these sunstrips on and how.

I have been through many patents from column stand systems through microphone stand systems. Out of curiosities, an ordinary Dynawid is able to hold a sunstrip vertically if you poke around. It is not designed for this, but need is the mother of invention. After many annoying attempts and combinatorics I decided some time ago to find a solution to the problem. It turned out to be Gravity's height-adjustable spacer bars.

It is a simple patent based on a metal base with different screwing positions, a rod and pins. What's cool about the whole system is the screw-in points of the tripod. We have a choice of 3 at different locations on the base. This gives us the option to position the rod so that the center of gravity of the device is in the center of the base, or the base counterbalances the items being erected/hung. The base itself is also equipped with handles that are comfortable to carry and we get it with a cover so we can take care of the varnish.

The headband itself is nothing more than a metal telescope with a minimum height of 1430mm, expandable to 2400mm. Enough not only to hang the sunstrip a meter above the ground, but also to put the lighting head on the top stand. Interestingly, the risers themselves get in different versions. In addition to the length, they also differ in the unrolling system, from a classic pull-out tube to a tooth system with a crank for lifting.

With a load capacity of 25kg, the system is suitable not only for hanging/positioning lighting, but also for sound columns. The whole set (base + tube) weighs about 20kg, so our spines may get a beating, but in return we get a compact system that, in addition to practical applications, looks nice on stage.

An important point is the diameter of the telescope, the extension is 35mm. If you want to attach something to them, it is worth arming yourself with smaller omegas than standard ones because you will not catch the subject as I did recently... It is also worth mentioning that the manufacturer has recently released a version with automatic pin lock. So we no longer have to manually translate the pin and lower the stick to the locked height only the system will automatically lock the stick for us when lifting.
